A new kind of bonded labor, "illegal" workers tolerated as long as employers aka owners are satisfied. Would make them object to all kind of abuse, financially, in accomodation, even more. A restart of slavery that went already into the midst of the 20th century.

We had an asbestos industry in Bremen and we had a lot of pleuramesotheliom patients. As medical students we saw their cases in the Zentralkrankenhaus St. Jürgen Strasse (today Klinikum Bremen Mitte), lungs rapped in tumor, increasingly unable to breathe. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co...
