Another fun fact, BC buys their oil from Alberta so piping that oil across other peoples, including first nations, land in Alberta so BC can buy it is OK?
November 28, 2025 at 4:08 AM
The fact is, that Alberta oil is land locked anything Alberta does will require other provinces to agree, they can do nothing unilaterally. BC is getting something as well, Alberta has to build an energy grid so BC can sell their hydro power across Alberta and into Sask. Clean energy.
November 28, 2025 at 4:05 AM
Well she does have experience in that.
November 28, 2025 at 4:00 AM
I agree, it ain’t gonna happen. I just don’t understand how people can get so upset when it is clear that no matter how foul we find D. Smith, Alberta does get to have their say as well, or at least the opportunity to try. Canada is one country, we need to remember that.
November 28, 2025 at 3:53 AM
Every province gets to have their time to pitch their plans to the Feds without including everyone else. That does not mean that other parties don’t have a say, or cannot voice their opinions.

Down to insults are we???

Chernobyl happened years ago and the safety measures have exceeded that, three mile island as well. Nuclear is not the evil you think it is. 70.6% of France is powered by nuclear energy, 13.9% of Canada, 29% of Sweden,39% of Finland, 54.5% of Belgium and on and on.
November 28, 2025 at 3:34 AM
What has wealth have to do with any of this, how wealthy are you? Should it make your POV less valid? I am not pro oil, I am pro oil until we can transition into something better. I am anti- knee jerk reactions that don’t allow for the magnitude of changing an entire countries energy needs.
November 28, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Nope, we don’t use it, we don’t use any chemicals, and our cattle have zero purchased feed. All our land is chemical free.

And he got something in return
November 28, 2025 at 3:16 AM
Nuclear is around the world and it is safe. I live in a place where uranium is mined and is trucked right thru the middle of many communities and the people don’t even know. In all the years here with those mines, over 50, there has not been one accident, not one.
November 28, 2025 at 3:15 AM
No that is not my solution, I am pragmatic. With all the stomping of feet and gnashing of teeth the real point is missed. We are set up, for now, to rely on oil as are most countries. Selling our products is the best we can do as we move to better.
November 28, 2025 at 3:13 AM
I am guessing you haven’t lived next to one of those wind farms?
November 28, 2025 at 3:10 AM
That is possible as well, but oil is here for a while yet. Farms cannot function without it and other countries are not set up to do without it. What we need is the stable economy to invest in those types of projects, that comes from selling our resources when and where we can.
November 28, 2025 at 3:09 AM
Yup, that is why we need to start looking at nuclear power.
November 28, 2025 at 3:06 AM
Nuclear is the cleanest most efficient way to go. But he did make it contingent on Alberta building a grid to connect themselves and Sask to BC so they can buy the clean BC hydro electricity. He has no jurisdiction on Alberta’s renewable energy projects, that is overreach.
November 28, 2025 at 3:03 AM
They are, but you cannot power this huge country on only renewables. FYI the sale of our resources is key to keeping this country out of the hands of the US. That said, if BC and First Nations oppose this then they have that right, if they agree, they have the right.
November 28, 2025 at 2:59 AM
Like it or not, Alberta is part of this country, and we have to work with them. It is no different than having to work with Trump, it is necessary.
November 28, 2025 at 2:57 AM
We don’t have that much clout in the world, those countries will do what they feel is best for their countries.
November 28, 2025 at 2:55 AM
He did not, you have the power to not agree to this.
November 28, 2025 at 2:54 AM
Really? Read it again
November 28, 2025 at 2:50 AM
That pipeline needed to be bought. I am not pro oil but I am a realist and realistically this country will not survive the USA threats if we do not start selling our own resources to markets other than the USA.
November 28, 2025 at 2:48 AM
And if the First Nations came to an agreement would you let them decide what happens on their land? Just asking, I don’t think that would happen but if it did……….
November 28, 2025 at 2:43 AM
That is wrong, BC and the First Nations were the ones that are specifically mentioned as having to agree.
