Models are playing at the idea of heatwave conditions come midweek next week onwards.

This is a ongoing trend at the minuite that we are keeping a close eye on, however some very warm air will be coming up from the south which could lift temperatures widely into the high 20s low 30s!

High pressure building in again next week. Initially In the south of England, Wales and Ireland but eventually becoming country wide by the end of the week.

This means temperatures will be warm, especially across England and Wales and becoming settled, wetter further north initially!

A large band of wet weather currently across Scotland, N England and N Ireland currently moving West to North West as a area of low pressure moves in for the north. Drier further south as high pressure waits around!

Showers and thunderstorms have not been as widespread as expected this is due to excessive cloud cover through the day. Which was limiting surface heating. However a few thunderstorms weak in nature occurring across the South East/East anglia, with a band of rain across London and the south! ⛈️
June 7, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Thundery showers getting going now across the country, these should become heavier and more thundery as the day go's on. Heavy band of rain moving through the south as this hits the south east we should see some thundery activity getting going! ⛈️⛈️⛈️

We start off the morning with some rainfall across the west this will soon clear to bring sunshine and showers. These showers being fairly widespread across the country with the risk of thunder and hail. The biggest risk of thunderstorms however is in the south/south east. Heavy downpours widely!

There is a chance that areas in the south could see something wintry on Wednesday. We are watching closely as an area of low pressure crosses the English Channel. Depending on how far north the band go's some areas of the south could see some significant snowfall Wednesday!

It will be staying cold throughout the week this week which means further cold and ice risks. Expecially where we will have any left over snow on the ground so please be careful if travelling this week. Risk of further snowfall through the week.

A snow event is still looking probable this weekend Saturday night and into Sunday. Still uncertain exactly where is likely to see snow or rain. It all depends on the track and strength of the low. We will know more by tomorrow!

We are watching closely for this weekend. Models are suggesting an area of low pressure sliding to the south of the UK this could produce some widespread significant snowfall, nothing is certain as of yet but something that needs watching!
January 1, 2025 at 4:17 PM
As we start January it looks to be on the unsettled side with areas of low pressure moving in from the west. With strong winds, rain and snow as we start January. Some places could see a surprise snowfall on New years day! Whereas others will face flooding problems due to alot of rainfall!
December 30, 2024 at 7:47 PM
as we go through the first half of January it looks to be rather cold across the UK. Possibility of cold lasting through the remainder of January. The image I have posted shows ensemble members for one particular model. The more lines spread apart means more uncertainty, tighter more certainty.

There is the possibility of a thundery breakdown on Monday next week. Warm unstable air from the near continent added on with very high cape, This could allow for some rather intense thunderstorms to develop in spots. Things could change will let you know finer details as we get closer!
