A manned landing in 2027? Not likely. There are still too many untested technologies for that to happen. The most likely outcome will be a manned landing by China ~2030.

Jared is being overly optimistic. The current plan depends too much on untested technologies.

I need to replace my car soon, and I'd really like to get an EV. At some point, economies of scale should kick in, and EV's should become cheaper than gas cars. The North American car makers are risking being shut out of the EV market altogether if they don't make the necessary investments now.

I live in Canada. Forget about the raging snowstorm. You'll just have to shovel it all out in the morning.

Will Isaacman do what really needs to be done? Such as kill Artemis, SLS, and Orion?
December 19, 2025 at 6:33 PM
I feel sorry for Isaacman. He has a virtually impossible task ahead of him, trying to do the right things with NASA while dealing with a corrupt and inept administration, as well as dealing with legacy aerospace companies more interested in writing gov't contracts than producing real hardware.

I've heard that the flu experts missed the mark on this season's flu vaccine, estimated at only 30% effectiveness.

It's still worth getting jabbed, regardless.

US citizens who leave are the ones with common sense, and should be welcomed elsewhere. It's the MAGAt's that we don't want.
December 11, 2025 at 2:46 PM
Even if you live in the US, you need to be concerned. If they want to collect this level of information from visitors, imagine what information the various security agencies already have, or want to have, on US citizens.

This from a man who can afford to buy all the pencils he wants. Not that he knows how to use one.

If the US wants to kill its tourism industry, so be it. Almost 4 decades ago, I realized I was way better off spending my vacation in Europe, rather than the US. (While in Europe, no one ever threatened to blow my head off with a shotgun. I can't say the same about the US.)

Here's another that correctly identified the test image as natural.

Given the current government's disdain for science and education, I don't see any meaningful chance for progress within NASA. The current damage may well last a generation.

Sad and pathetic. Barack Obama (recipient of a truly meaningful peace prize) continues to live rent-free in Trump's head.

Next, the WH will be complaining: "Why doesn't the rest of the world want to buy our cars?"
December 4, 2025 at 3:30 PM
Once Russia invaded Ukraine, NASA should have started planning for Russia's ouster from the ISS consortium.

By the way, you can find more detailed information here. (Note that the USA dropped from number 30, down to 48th place.)
