that was the 2nd time in just over a month in 1987 that I didn't perish due to a fluke decision. the 1st was the 1987 UK hurricane where the room i'd have been sleeping in had a tree go through it but i'd told my boss to go sc**w a coke can and went home instead as he'd pissed me off. 4/5

back to Leicester rather than do some IPSS & GTN "hacking". I was so offgrid (decided to skip the conference and go hiking/cycling instead) that I didn't find out about the fire until the next monday . 3/5

and in the normal course of events i'd have been in the tube station around the time the fire started but someone had stolen/moved my modem cable so I decided to treat myself to a taxi and catch the earlier train 2/5

There was someone on twitter/x before the downfall who seemed to buy up and fix what seemed to be every dragon 32/64/........... in existence. they'd probably be able to help if i could remember who it was.

No we didn't. They didn't turn up so we have no idea when they'll be here to flip the switches and turn the valves
