I still view the Xbox 360 as Peak Console Gaming... when you could still actually boot/play a Game on a disc... it wasn't just a physical DRM lock that had to be installed/patched/updated or connected to the Internet to function.

Or just... Tomasino when/if no one claims him? Timing is everything. If he's claimed they can call up whoever they want, they don't play until Friday.

What part of my post made you think that I was talking about "PC Gamers" who already have a PC... and obviously have no issues with any of those PC things... would drop their PC for a Steam Cube? That's the point you've completely missed... obviously.

People have a weird concept of "whining". Shining a light on areas of friction between Consoles/PCs for Gaming is not... "whining". Trying to point out why someone would want a Steam Cube but have no interest in PC Gaming is not... "whining". 1/2

Do you know what the word "whining" means? You took the word "controller" from my OP, and Bro'd me about using a controller... as if I wasn't aware controllers were a thing in PC land. You missed the entire point of my OP and Bro'd me about a controller. No whining has happened anywhere...

I don't understand all of the "then just do this..." stuff... I'm completely aware I can run Linux on any PC hardware on the planet... you're missing the entire point completely. However, I'm glad you are happy with your setup. People who want the Steam Cube have a reason to want the Steam Cube.

Good news. Assuming it's basically a 6x more powerful Steam Deck w/o screen and always attached to your TV, it will be exactly that. Push button to Start, Steam Machine on TV, Push Button, Play.

Congratulations, Bro. Please share with the chat how your Turn On your PC, auto-boot into Steam Big Picture Mode on your TV (without watching Windows boot/signing on to Windows) and straight up Game. Actually... don't... because no one wants to set that up. This is the point.

I'm 100% with you on both controllers and on PC over Console. I don't even know what a new Console would have to do in order for me to go back... once they just became worse versions of PCs with more expensive games and restrictions etc... I lost interest.

Yeah, and I realize these are the people who are somehow seeing my comment and getting offended by it... but my intention wasn't intended for them to get all defensive just because they identify as a "PC Gamer" it was just trying to bring light to something they themselves don't "see".

Probably because it's a lot of extra work to support a device that very, very few people would use and doesn't actually come standard with said console.

Console is the Target Demographic. Even if all they play is Call Of Duty/Madden. Consoles today are just PCs anyhow none of which are doing anything remotely exciting to make you choose one over the other. Might as well choose the one (Steam Cube) that has a mostly "open" platform and "cheap games".
