We found a surge in cargo flights, from nearly none in early 2024 to 40+ per week in mid-2025.

Cargo planes fly direct to London, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Bucharest, and Budapest; and indirect to cities including Athens, Leipzig, Liège, Vienna, Tallinn, Zurich.

Air cargo flights from the Uyghur Region to Europe went from virtually none to 40+ every week from June 2024 to May 2025, according to the analysis.

Nine cargo carriers operated regular flights in that period (some direct, others indirect) through Central Asia and Turkey.

The Kashgar subzone of the Xinjiang Pilot FTZ represents a "space of exception," where the conditions of labor should come under scrutiny. Given the involvement of the Third Division of the XPCC, coerced labor in the supply chain running through the FTZ is likely.
