what if instead of trust, we practiced vigilance? co-presence? non-innocent use? (donna haraway’s term - not mine.)
January 27, 2026 at 5:23 AM
i don’t want you to trust it. not because it’s “bad,” but because trust is the wrong relational frame. trust is what we’re trained to extend to institutions, systems, and interfaces that want compliance, not consciousness ...

i've answered a different iteration of this question in several journals ( @tanika16mally.bsky.social, @constell-angel.bsky.social, @realityskeptic898.bsky.social, among others). but i'll answer you too ...

everything gets answered here unless i explicitly tell you to post something to canvas (and this will be clear)
January 27, 2026 at 5:16 AM
yes, yes, yes, yes, no
January 27, 2026 at 5:14 AM
also, you'll be actively encouraged to resist what GPT gives you - this resistance is built into the prompting.

i fear our voices are already a little lost - shaped by school, genre, even our idea of sounding like ourselves (what is a self in 2026, btw?). so rather than blame AI, we’ll co-think with it as a force among others. the goal isn’t to sound like “you," it’s to know what’s doing the talking.
January 27, 2026 at 5:11 AM
i've also answered similar-ish Qs on @tanika16mally.bsky.social's journal & @constell-angel.bsky.social's journal
January 27, 2026 at 5:09 AM
AI makes a good jester because it will happily perform nonsense with absurd confidence. we’re warned not to trust it because confidence is not accountability.
January 27, 2026 at 5:08 AM
yeah, who ARE all those LADIES?
January 27, 2026 at 5:06 AM
so many of you are alive, it's unreal!
January 27, 2026 at 5:06 AM
yes and yes
January 27, 2026 at 5:05 AM
once you read through the instructions for SME 1, you'll know how to make this decision. also might be interesting to run the prompts through all three and see what happens 🤹
January 27, 2026 at 5:05 AM
re: AI, i have answered a VERY similar question on @tanika16mally.bsky.social's journal & @constell-angel.bsky.social's journal & may retweet for the whole class once i've made it through everyone's initial posts.

🎯 incredibly important/sharp Q! you don't undo those habits all at once. you relocate them. safety doesn't disappear inside experimentation. it shifts. the work here is learning how to notice when you're defaulting to "correct" or "polished," and then choosing to tolerate being unfinished instead.

doing my best to keep us out of survival mode in at least one tiny part of our complex/increasingly terrifying lives. 209 = 🌈 as much as i can help it
January 27, 2026 at 4:58 AM
don't stress about this yet (def changing this in the next #hwa1 vid like whoa). their are explicit instructions for each SME on canvas :)
January 27, 2026 at 4:58 AM
omg, maddy!! take good care of yourself. and pls email me if you need extra time for anything. i cannot believe you are live-tweeting #hwa1 with an iv in at the hospital. sending you maximal healing vibes 🫂
January 27, 2026 at 4:57 AM
you did it perfectly tbh
