RIP Robert Redford. In addition to being an actor, a movie star, a director (I am particularly fond of his debut film, "Ordinary People"), a producer, an environmentalist and activist, he probably did more than anyone else to help foster independent cinema by creating the Sundance Film Festival.

Can't believe Annie's album, "Anniemal", is 20 years old. So many good tracks. Recommended if you like Scandinavian pop, the production on Madonna's debut album (one of the tracks is even sampled here), Kylie Minogue but less glossy, dance-y stuff. I miss MP3 blogs. Links in comments.

Paul Weller makes his acting debut in the upcoming Steve McQueen film, "Blitz", coming out in November. He plays the main character's grandfather. I will put the trailer in the comments, but Weller is only in it for the teeniest of moments.
