Our Elementary Schools VP, Karen Alford, knows firsthand that our NYC paras are crucial – but they are underpaid.

This cannot go on any longer, especially as school staff dwindles and care for students with special needs continues to rise.

Paraprofessionals are critical for the wellbeing & growth of each NYC student.

But their starting salaries are far too low: $32,000.

Passing the RESPECT Check, getting annual support for paras, will make an incredible difference.
