Engineer, builder, and dad. Democrat running to represent Michigan's 11th congressional District so that we can build a better future in Oakland County.

4 months into this campaign, I couldn't be more excited about what we're doing!

I'm not a politician. I'm an engineer, a builder, and a dad. I want to use that experience to build things in Michigan, protect our healthcare, lower costs, and defend our freedoms.

When I was growing up, my dad's union always sent him home with a Christmas ham. Those times weren't always easy, but my parents taught us kids to always be thankful for what we had.

I've been so humbled by all the support we've received for this campaign so far. We're rejecting Corporate PAC money, meeting voters face-to-face, and talking about the issues facing everyday Michiganders.

Democrats need to win back folks who work with their hands and shower after work. How are we going to do that? By advocating for an agenda where work is rewarded and where we build more of what we need here at home.

Basic healthcare should be a right for everyone in this country. But instead of lowering costs for our families, this Administration is doing everything they can to make healthcare unaffordable.

We can do better.

If I go to Congress, I'm going to join the House Science, Space, and Technology committee to ensure that we bring great research and development opportunities to Oakland County.

Because of your help, we're building a strong campaign that relies on everyday people instead of political insiders or Corporate PACs. I'm running because it's time for a change in Washington, and I think I have the experience to actually make life better in Michigan.

Hands-down, my FAVORITE part of running for Congress is the chance to meet people and talk with them about how I can help solve the problems they're facing in their day to day lives. Across dozens of Oakland County events, I've met hundreds of Michiganders who want real change.

We need more people in Congress who know how to work with their hands, and we need to do more to support good-paying jobs for folks who build things.

Good government can make a real difference in helping build more of the things we need in Michigan. That's what I had the chance to do at U.S. Department of Commerce, where I worked to apply advanced technology and research to American industry.

In Case You Missed It: This week we launched Builders for Don, a coalition of 15 business and community leaders who are critical to our campaign. This is a group of folks who know how to make a difference in our community, and publications like Michigan Advance are taking notice!

I’m honored to have the support of Builders for Don, 15 business and community leaders who contribute to our community every day. I’m not a politician, but I do know what it takes to get things done, and so do these amazing leaders from across Southeast Michigan.

We need to end Washington corruption. A good start would be ending Corporate PAC money, ending dark money, and banning Congressional stock trading.

It's time for our elected officials to work for us, not just for themselves.

Newton is having a ruff Monday! But he reminded our team to ask for a campaign contribution before the end of the year. You can donate at ufford4michigan.com. Hope your new week is filled with treats!

If you want to do a job the right way, you make a plan and then follow that plan. This Administration has no plan to lower costs or create good-paying jobs. They're playing it fast and loose with people's livelihoods. We can do better.
December 7, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Here's the deal: If we want to lower costs, then we need to build more of the things we need here at home. That means building more homes, producing clean abundant energy to bring down our utility bills, and getting rid of the tariff taxes that are hurting Michigan manufacturers.

Everyday Michiganders are looking for new leaders and new ideas. That's why I'm running.

I'm an outsider. My experience is in building things in our auto industry, serving in the federal government, and raising a family here.

These tariffs are illegal. Congress, the branch of government elected directly by the people, is the only part of government with the power to create new taxes.

I’m proud to be the only candidate in this race to take the @StopBigMoney pledge to Unrig Washington. It's time to ban Congressional stock trading, call for all candidates to refuse corporate PAC money, and crack down on dark money in our elections. #ecuunrigwashington

I called in yesterday to 1A on NPR to talk about why I'm running for Congress.

These chaotic tariffs are a tax on American consumers and on our auto industry. We need leaders in Congress who will reclaim the power of the purse and who know what it takes to build things.

Our healthcare experience is like that of so many other Michiganders. When Rebecca needed a major procedure, we were lucky that we had insurance. And because the Affordable Care Act protects pre-existing conditions, we were able to rely on it for her recovery.

Wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving!

I'm so thankful for those who keep us safe, for our community in Michigan, and for everyone working to build this campaign from the ground up.

Small businesses are critical to our mission of building more of the things we need here in Michigan.

I know what it's like to build things in the private sector. And in Congress, I'll ensure our small business leaders have the resources they need to succeed.
