⚠️ Some faculty have been told they can’t use university funds for conferences with DEI panels. In fact, state funds can typically be used if you’re not presenting on a DEI topic. I try not to give in to hopelessness and despair, but FSU’s faculty union is on the verge of decertification. If, in the next week or so, we don’t reach the arbitrary 60-percent membership threshold set by state lawmakers (“public safety” unions are exempt, of course), our union will cease to exist.
