Also, I believe the public unit in Japan is more or less permanently on loan to VGM Robot in Saitama unless something radically changes. Two of us were there in October when it was running (it's only on a few days a year) and it was a little cranky but absolutely playable.

If you're looking for more Taiwan-specific snacks, you might want to see about stopping by one of I-Mei's stores. They're one of the largest domestic snack food companies over there.

My vote is still for Sky Shark on account of the simple mechanics, short loop length, and fun-to-learn recoveries. It’s a really cozy little game once you learn the routing but always tons of fun.

Did that boot animation come out of Jyotei Senki 4 or is it a really close copy? It looks dead-on like the initial loading screen.

Wait, seriously? How close does it get? That’s wild!

I don’t see any mention of his father in this article though.

Wait, that's how Loadstar came to be?! I've never seen that backstory but it would absolutely make sense. Is there any article about this somewhere?

And yet it’s still easier to service than the Compact models purely on the fact that it’s not tiny.

Mega Man: The Wily Wars was written in C, and it shows.

I suspect it's mostly about the IDYA motion cab tbh (and that soundtrack)...
