Hamas wants to stay with the original terms of the ceasefire which also will see the return of all remaining hostages (living and deceased). Phase 2 will also negotiate a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of all IDF forces from Gaza. Netanyahu never intended to honor the Phase 2 process.

Israel has wanted to extend Phase 1 because of a promise Netanyahu made to his far right wing. He did this to prevent the collapse of his government. Trump & his envoy came up with that “bridging” proposal along with Israel. Hamas, who has not broken the ceasefire, rejected the “bridge” (#3)

The facts of Israel breaking the ceasefire. Israel has repeatedly broken Phase 1 of the ceasefire throughout its duration. Israel has refused to negotiate details for Phase 2 which were to have begun on Day 16 of Phase 1. Israel is trying to move the goal posts to avoid Phase 2 (#2)
