3/ #NIOSH stands for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

They identified critical workplace issues, set national research agendas, studied emerging workplace hazards, & ran safety program priorities that protected workers from harm.

NIOSH’s budget is only about $2.20 per worker annually ($338 million), yet work-related injuries & illnesses cost the US economy an estimated $250 billion each year.

Small prevention efforts reduce lost time & lost wages & lost productivity. Eliminating programs will cost Americans & businesses. 2/
