I could get lost in those patterns.
It has been so fun for me to see arctic terns swoop around the coastline while black-headed gulls find a place to hover or stay perched in wait.

I'm not clear on whether the "special affix" is special to the converb function as a whole or to just not indexing the subject. Some of the forms I've looked at can be used as converbs among other uses, but fewer are specifically converbs, so I'm wondering which is meant here.
