I am bag of seeming contradictions. A Scottish presbyterian and critical rationalist, committed to loving my neighbour but holding a black belt in Taekwondo. An engineer who's into the arts. A cynic, who cleaves to hope.
Fanone - set on by facists for defending democracy, and his family, against them. Shop worker - set upon for pointing out Trump's ("grab em by the P*ssy", sex assault convictions) association with a - sex trafficking & acts on minors - close pal. It's not Right or Left, it's right or wrong.

Isn't that putting the conclusion before the review?

Need to properly establish issues before deciding solutions.

All for safe use, but think bans put onus on users. Platforms are the ones driving content, misusing data, and not wanting taxed. What responsibility & cost do they bear?

"My brave over muscled, over armed, over numbered, over zealous khaki-shirts shot your unarmed, unprotected daughter three times in the face because she p*ssed them off. She won't be getting justice, but these things happen. I hope I can rely on your support."

The guy has to be a psychopath?

But... America is a key member of NATO???

And there's been peace and prosperity in the world since its inception???

And the only time other NATO members have come to aid another under attack, was to support America???

But if Putin, Xi's pal, helped Trump win... then everything makes sense.
January 20, 2026 at 8:15 PM
Gee - and Trump hasn't immediately removed the threat? Well, well.
January 20, 2026 at 7:58 PM
Assuming for a moment there's ever a fair election, and this bunch of greased up mobsters get thrown out - how much of subsequent administrations time will be needed to bring justice and repair the damage?
January 19, 2026 at 12:00 PM
Probably a bit of training in cancelling/ intimidation/ exclusion tactics for upcoming mid-terms too?

Pretty sure I read something about army not being used against its own people?

- is not releasing the Epstein files despite it being legally required.
January 19, 2026 at 11:35 AM
Nope, he and his administration want to go down as ass kicking, gun boat supremicists and expansionists. He'll take all the bells and baubles going, but it won't placate him. Those bearing gifts will look weak, naive, corrupt, and submissive.
January 19, 2026 at 11:30 AM
Maybe good line for UK. But the concern is, after speaking with Trump, Starmer comes over as being servile to even a bonkers US. Trump will want to be seen as King of the world, and won't like effects or optics of Europe resisting his will. But it's imperative they do. Will get worse up to midterms.
January 19, 2026 at 11:08 AM
He'll have elections... you'll just have to walk passed DEI, and large, masked, armed "Federal" agents - who won't be there to intimidate, but to "ensure fairness"!
January 17, 2026 at 6:31 PM
Tell Trump they moved them to Greenland, maybe he'll steer clear.
January 17, 2026 at 6:28 PM
Free speech is one thing, but transparency just reveals intent.
January 17, 2026 at 6:26 PM
A move against the same countries that supported US under Article 5!

US: not just untrustworthy and unreliable, but a threat to the sovereignty of partners.

China & Russia can sit back with their popcorn and watch US destroy their foreign partnerships, as well as the foundations of their society.
January 17, 2026 at 6:23 PM
Nazi thinking - right there.

China likely to see it as them being used, either as diversion, or to equivalence Greenland action, and/or part of a bigger trap.

Oh, and when are the vast remainder of the Epstein files being released, dismantling legal system = Nazi tactics.
January 17, 2026 at 5:26 PM
An act full of hope.
January 12, 2026 at 11:20 AM
That's a meme?

Even better, read George Orwells "On nationalism" to understand what nationalism is and is not. Then read 1984 to understand how language is weaponised: how emotive triggers replace honest argument to influence thinking, and how thinking for yourself makes you the enemy.

Kind of sensed this was coming when they changed Dept. of Defence to Dept. of War.
January 12, 2026 at 11:03 AM
Because they're going to where they think they can influence, and hold their noses while necessarily diving into the cess pool. They're not confident that, as government ministers, they are impactful enough that people will follow them to hear what they have to say. Sad, really.
January 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM
I doubt it. And it will be more evidence of their not being fit for purpose.
January 12, 2026 at 10:52 AM
Because politicians assume voters have the attention span of a goldfish, and they can put on a floorshow nearer the time to paint making your life worse as not that, and even as a good thing. They get jittery when the goldfish theory gets put to the test.
January 12, 2026 at 10:26 AM
If they were to act like govts should - and secure the safety of citizens, they wouldn't threaten, it'd be done by now!

It's also telling that X/Grok ship it, and that Musk - who's integrated the censoring of X content for his own and other's benefit - says to ban is to censor!?!?
January 12, 2026 at 10:03 AM
Arguably, they're re-finding their humanity, but have lost their religion.
January 11, 2026 at 11:44 PM
Bl**dy right censor it. Only perverts would enable, and defend, the forced sexualisation of anyone, let alone children, by twistedly, sickeningly, setting themselves as champions against censorship?!? If Reform really are that popular, the country's lost its soul.
