#Saskatchewan’s provincial government has enjoyed bragging of job growth.
Almost all of this “growth” has been in the public sector, at the expense of taxpayers.
August marked the highest public sector share of total employment in #Sask data history.

It’s also 8.5 points above neighbouring Alberta, with which we compete directly and vigorously for investment and workers. The gap with the rest of Canada is primarily due to the fact that the PST substantially adds to capital costs.

Brian Mulroney deserves credit for a small few things, like reducing our reliance on economically costly taxes on income by introducing the GST…but of the many policies he deserves the opposite of thanks for, NAFTA comes at the top of the list.

The CMHC released starts for October today. If population growth continues at its rate from the last 3 quarters, #Saskatchewan will once again have been second last in starts per population growth. #skpoli
