In about 20 years someone will claim to be the reincarnation of Jeffy.

Of course if we accept reincarnation as an option, there is no probably no life form that is sufficiently punishing to be his reincarnation.

Also Open Source is primarily noting that the code can be inspected by the public as opposed to compiled programs which are often not very readable by humans.

Just because a company posts it’s code online does not relate to their underlying business model.

Red Hat Linux is only a business because of enterprise organisations that require formal support arrangements.

Yes Bluesky requires money to operate, but enthusiasts have always found ways to innovate solutions to the problem.

Bluesky might eventually fail but that’s not the end to the attempts.

This rhetoric of “not peaceful enough” also falls directly into the hands of Project 2025 because no form of protest will be so peaceful enough to never be shot by an oppressive regime.

Blatantly incorrect there. Fox News already shows that institutional media is as bad as nationalised media.

They’ve already attempted at arresting political opponents, can’t wait till they cancel mid terms.

How peaceful should people be while they are being shot with rubber bullets?

The “pro-life” party cares more about property of the elite than human lives

This is comparable to civil war era protests that freed black men who were illegitimately claimed as escaped slaves and arrested to be sent to work in slavery.

The difference is that they are deporting them to concentration camps rather than slavery.

For full context I recommend the book “In Defence Of Looting”, but the short version is that the reporting of the reporting will tend to focus on the property damages affecting the elites and corporations rather than the liberties and lives being protected by these protests.

They value the property of the elite more than the families and communities being torn apart.

Complaining that protests are not peaceful enough is an act of violence against those protesting the actions.

Resisting arrest from an oppressive regime is still peaceful protest.

Absolutely and it shouldn’t be surprising that people interested in topics like ethics are often desperately looking to justify their own beliefs and actions.

In the article it says that the average wage is higher than 75% of Australians earn.

I was previously looking at the tax data and the top is seriously skewed. NSW top earner bracket started under $200k but the average in that bracket was just under $1M.

The closest I can think of is Dubstep, but I would argue that it was just a larger version of trends and copycats, similar to Nu Metal. A lot of the other examples that come to mind are either natural shifts in popularity and technology or just people riding popular trends that faded.

I was hoping this sort of thing would backfire on the administration. Implementing regulations aren’t always detrimental to profit margins and they were never going to the diligence to analyse the impacts of their actions.

Given the current state of ChatGPT’s code duration, we don’t have anything to fear in the immediate future 😆
