The notion of having law enforcement officers in schools boggles the minds of this non-American.

It is HUGE... but I will find a place for it... after I rob a bank to buy it.

Looks way cool! ❤️

Hopefully they just let the IP sit rather than MAGA-fy it and destroy its goodwill.

I love this idea. They should totally do it.

I feel like we've had a few shows that have returned to us since the COVID shutdowns put them on hiatus, so still blaming Netflix for this one. Even freaking Stranger Things is almost back with kids in their 20s probably still playing 13 year olds because of big delays.
November 5, 2025 at 1:16 AM
Freaking Netflix is so dumb with the way it treats TV Shows. So many good ones have been cancelled far too soon, including this fun romp of a show!

Maybe they are all going to collectively call the governments bluff and turn off access if they get antsy about it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I wouldn't mind to be honest, should Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, et al, go away just like that.

You would also think the platforms would have said something about their approach to the users by now. Given the stated fines for non-compliance. I had thought it was supposed to be in place by this time next month, meaning we'd all have to verify from day one, why not get a jump on that?
November 5, 2025 at 12:48 AM
But it remains a scary prospect if the platforms feel, to avoid massive fines, they have to capture our legal government IDs and biometric data for confirmation and store it somewhere. At no point has the gov suggested they use the MyGov ID system they have for this, which is a bit weird TBH.
November 5, 2025 at 12:45 AM
The government has left it to the platforms to institute their own programs for age verification, had the Government wanted all our data they would've put the verification system in place so they collect it all.
November 5, 2025 at 12:45 AM
I don't agree this is some nefarious identity tracking thing by our government. With the 5-eyes program and all the things the ASD has access to they don't need that to follow us around.

I do believe this is a case of the government doing what parents should be doing... parenting their children.
November 5, 2025 at 12:45 AM
To be fair, it will START with Social Media platforms and then likely roll out across the internet. It will end up like we need to apply to some random government department before we can use any website soon.

content AI needs to know how to help people with the game?

That is our biggest problem with AI, when humans stop creating it will stop learning. When humans become dependent on AI all AI will have is its own slop to consume and like JPEG artefacts it will just become worse and worse over time!

I have a rescue cat had her since she was a tiny kitten now going on 12 years old... she came from the vet, but was abandoned before properly weened and displayed some feral tendencies. She still isn't fully socialised, but is getting better.
November 5, 2025 at 12:35 AM
Yeah I want them to be thorough when I am calling them, but if they are calling me they should all have a reference number or something which by using I could call them back on a known number and get put onto someone I KNOW to be from the bank. Not handing over details to anyone who calls.
November 5, 2025 at 12:27 AM
YAY, I know what that is and enjoyed it on the regular... I did indeed grow up poor. And it was the cheapest easy-peeling cheese mum could get.
November 5, 2025 at 12:13 AM
Kind of rude to imply that people buying things from Kmart, from which they profit, to give it back to Kmart to give to needy kids is in any way the government or Kmart doing anything to help out is just shockingly stupid for both parties to do. 🙄
November 4, 2025 at 11:50 AM
So we're doing advertising for a private company now?

And how is spruiking Kmart's "wishing tree appeal" translated into "we're making Christmas brighter"?

Get corporations and the rich to pay taxes, use that to help the poor, it's not rocket science.
