How Analysts stay fit:
Crossroads for soccer:

Modern strategies are positional, rigid, and predictable.

Modern sports analytics fail the game because it is too fluid.

The two sports worlds cannot coexist. Either, it becomes stale to fit statistical odds or we embrace creativity and unpredictability.

I know my choice.

Confession:
Sometimes I feel like I’m getting left behind with industry advances and fear being made obsolete.
I tell myself that everyone is chasing rabbits. They’ll be back to the basics eventually.
Unsure if it’s cope or reality but I suspect that is how the world is now too with AI and all.

Fridays when you release a transformative tool that shows every touchpoint with a customer/contact and allow access for the entire business to monitor that engagement are a mix of excitement and nerves.

“I don’t like what this data shows. Can we edit it?”

It really is one of those days today…

Mgmt: The downward trend seems to have slowed and stabilized.

Me: It just looks that way. The rate of change is still the same negative %. The absolute change is smaller because the gross is smaller.

Mgmt: Uh…We’ll stay the course.

As big as Chicago is…
As much of a fantastic sports city Chicago is…

Every single one of our professional teams in every sport is terrible

That’s a little embarrassing
