And now?
November 16, 2025 at 3:11 PM
but it has helped other regions, hasn't it?
November 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM
It's kind of weird, but maybe the 2020s are different for Italy. There also doesn't seem to be a strong alternative right now from what I remember
November 16, 2025 at 2:47 AM
nice, that would be very interesting to read about

Also as research for a worldbuilding project I have with even more ultralocal politics, except it's all organized on that level in a direct democratic way and the higher ones depend on the lowest one, not the other way round!

if this was a show made where I live, it would mean more than 10 % of the entire population of the country watched it

so many good shows from smaller countries probably never get big due to where they are made
November 15, 2025 at 7:32 PM
oh, thanks!

unfair to pigs!

On top of that, are you aware that both freedom of religion and conscience are rooted in the reformation (because they forced the question), or the role of Catholicism in colonialism?
November 15, 2025 at 5:31 PM
Many languages would barely exist nowadays or not have any historical record at all if it hadn't been for the reformation!
November 15, 2025 at 5:24 PM
excuse me, anticlericalism was much more an early anti-authoritarian movement that wanted to deny a tiny privileged group of people the power to tell other people how to live and think, *and* spread literacy and preserved native languages across much of Europe.

this has the potential to be so much worse, as evidenced by the cases of psychotic breaks of reality reported already (on people with no prior history of mental illness, too)

Even if might seem harmless now in comparison to the vitriol and terror of megachurches
November 15, 2025 at 5:20 PM
The 2020s: Everything you disliked about the 2010s, but magnitudes worse, with the horrors of the 1920s added on top but none of the cool aesthetics (There's no 2020s Art Deco, is there?)
November 15, 2025 at 5:18 PM
You don't need to want to convince the LLM to do that, there are cases where people talking about spirituality have the LLM suggest that as is, which is part of what makes them dangerous
November 15, 2025 at 4:56 PM
it's similar to what decides whether someone ends up drinking too much alcohol, or not, and it's not all just impulse control, although that will play a role
November 15, 2025 at 4:54 PM
People can get unhealthily fixated on characters from stories as is (not that any fixation is unhealthy, sometimes they can even be beneficial), but this takes it to a whole different, much more dangerous level
November 15, 2025 at 4:53 PM
Even if you go in not believing LLMs are anything special the way they answer and imitate casual conversations and praise and often isolate you can create a lot of pressure and cognitive dissonance, the way you can start drinking alcohol fully intending to keep to a reasonable limit
November 15, 2025 at 4:52 PM
I don't think any health problems comes fully out of nowhere, but many things that can be risk factors here wouldn't normally lead to things like what LLMs can cause now, like loneliness or an interest in discussing spirituality.
November 15, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Someone who searched for help on a completely innocuous subject like a DIY project only to eventually get locked into a spiraling on unhinged discussions on spirituality is more than concerning for me and at least warrants further look into what and how it is happening
November 15, 2025 at 4:46 PM
yes, I said some will be at greater risk. Just that you don't need a history of mental illness for that to be the case
November 15, 2025 at 4:44 PM
This one, with the green E stretching across the whole width of the flag? The old European Movement flag?
November 15, 2025 at 4:42 PM
I think this is reasonably close to what a psychological pathogen would be expected to look like, and I think anyone can be affected by it, the way anyone can be affected by alcohol and develop an addiction, even with no family history of alcoholism
November 15, 2025 at 4:41 PM
A version with the E stretching across the whole length of the flag was used on cards of a 90s quartets card game showing Airbus airplanes I had
