I'm not as involved in theatre arts though. Does this seem to be better when a tangible physical artifact isn't being produced through art making? Is the undervaluing even more pronounced?

100%. Ceramics are a great example. We often joke that the only folks who aren't upset by the prices are other ceramicists!

In my experience, this relationship of undervalued work between designers/artists and audience/patrons seems pretty common outside of just the ttrpg space. Have you noticed a unique way it manifests among the indie community?

It has been many years since I was a bookseller at a small indie shop, but we were posting a bunch of are stock to abebooks. They were good to us at the time.

As someone still in the biz, are they still a decent source?
