I do the same, and it often sounds right. Still, I can sit for a long time pondering the function it serves.

As my daughter commented, if Mangione had shot an ordinary person, especially a poor person, we wouldn't have even heard about it...and they sure wouldn't have devoted so many resources into finding him.
