Today in Roman history: May 18, 113 C.E., Trajan's Forum opens, the last and largest ancient forum of Rome. Before social media, the forum was where you went to gain followers, discover trends, and see your favorite influencers. You could 'like' by clapping or 'comment' by throwing vegetables!

I've seen a few writers on BlueSky say that a first draft's only job is to exist. I don't know who said it first, but thank you. I've written 30+ novels, but I still needed that reminder, because it never gets easier. And now, back to making a thing exist!

Spanish discovery of the day: Me voy a ir yendo. Literally something like "I am going to go going." Actually makes perfect sense to me. The equivalent in Texas would be, "I'm fixin' to get going." As in gotta brush my teeth first, get dressed, maybe watch this TV show, but I'll get there eventually.
