Bruno is not the issue with the midfield. He’s the only technician in a workhorse group. We need more like him.

Currently all of our CMs work best running into space. But no one to find them/fill the space they leave.

Tonali is a good mix of physical and technical but need a creator next to them

To me it’s very obvious the lack of Signings wasn’t a PSR issue (bid 75mil for Guehi), but a problem caused by the change in hierarchy…

The plan changed and the people making decisions changed which meant nothing was done. Fully expect that to change with Mitchell and time

I’ve come to the conclusion this is probably his ceiling. The lack of signings has stunted a lot of growth.

There’s not really even been an attempt to develop the play style to help, which makes me think he’s not capable. Don’t see a point in sacking him mid season, but think it’s the end

Individual quality is the obvious way to change that, but there’s no patterns to play

We always knew teams would eventually allow us more possession.

Unfortunately the style hasn’t developed to match this. This is why it was always unsustainable.

Tonali and Barnes were bought for these games. Ball striking and added technical quality, adding a ceiling to the team without them

I don’t see this group having any confidence of breaking teams down in games like this.

These games are what Howe will be judged on and he’s not helping himself

It’s coincidental for me that Longstaff has played and we win. Tonali can comfortably do everything Longstaff does + have added quality on the ball.

No doubt to me he’ll be a huge upgrade in that position, just time and it’ll work

Really don’t think it matters where they all start, all very versatile so depending on performance or needs they’ll rotate

Tonali can do that Longstaff role, tbh I think it’s more coincidental that we’ve won with Longstaff in than because he’s key
