The world I’m building has a town that’s *just* the buildings on the bridge…maybe because it’s in a precipitous mountain valley? Just need to figure where to put it…

Seriously! One if these days I’ll sit down and write/illustrate the guide I’ve been planning for years 🖤 💦

Finding this book on the traveling library cart of my middle school made me feel like I’d discovered an ancient tome, or perhaps something from another reality…especially when I could never find it again! Definitely had that “did I only dream of this?” vibe…until I found it again at a library sale 🧾

Depends on the purpose: if you’re getting it primarily as a reference for other art, having a turnaround can be useful to allow artists to extrapolate how they’ll look in different poses; if it’s a standalone that *could also* be used as a ref, a 3/4 feels more natural (and is cheaper as a single)

It’s always curious how dour Hollywood et al tend to paint previous eras. I wonder why that is…a sense of “gritty realism” perhaps? Conversely, i’m reminded of the wedding scene in MontyPythonGrail and how vibrant that was…and gritty

That’s smart, and would really help cement knowledge, learning about a pigment before using it, etc

That looks so wicked! The Ancestors™ would be proud. Speaking of wish, have you considered adding a storytelling element? Like even as simple as a randomized prompt, eg: “You hope to catch a bison in the coming hunt, how would you call on the appropriate deities?”

Fascinating how human humans are, even from such a (comparatively) distant past. Further proof that our brains are just wired in such a way that these themes keep coming up because they still hold meaning. Though I’m no scholar, it would be an interesting challenge to try and write up a continuation

Thanks! I’ve been eyeing Poscas for a while, and I’ve never even heard of Ohuhu

Ha! And here I thought the Luminance colored pencils were just that good (they still look amazingly buttery) 🤍 any brand of acrylic marker / ink pen that you prefer?

Comparing this against the wip bsky.app/profile/them... really showcases your technique (and using blue as the undercoat for the black is literally & figuratively brilliant!) but i have to ask: how do you get your white highlights so pure? Short of a white chalk pencil I’ve never been so successful.
Tiger armpits, anyone? 😏🤤
