Bootstrapping Speedy’s E-Bike Rescue in Seattle. Ex- Product Lead at Reddit.

I used to chase scalability in software, building products that scaled but delivered ‘meh’ value. With Speedy’s, I focused on delivering value first.

Proof: an early customer asked to hand out flyers for us at a city event—just because they loved the service.

Valuable > Scalable

I’ve been reflecting on this Peter Thiel quote lately:

“Most companies get zero distribution channels to work. If you get just one to work, you have a great business. If you try for several but don’t nail one, you’re finished. Distribution follows the power law.”

I left my product job at Reddit because I always wanted to start my own company.

Earlier this year I bought an electric van & started Speedy’s.

We give our Seattle members peace of mind that if there big heavy e-bike ever breaks, we will help them get to where they need to go.
