An interesting read from @franznicolay about the non-star players in the music world, craft vs art, and the value of skill. Lots of overlap thematically and logistically with the art world.

The @cityofminneapolis.bsky.social is still scheduling street sweeping when most of the leaves are still on the trees.
This causes problems when the leaves do fall and it snows and they clog up the storm sewers. Maybe an adjustment is in order.

Autism Spectrum Disorder wasn't a valid DSM diagnosis until 2013, just like ADD wasn't a valid DX until 1980.

I am part of the 2/3 of kids who continue to have ADHD symptoms into adulthood but it took me a long time to figure that out because I was part of the generation told I would “grow out of it” as a kid. I didn’t!

Look at this: August 27, 1934 Minneapolis Star - article abt MPRB's Hiawatha Golf Course + how golfers were hitting balls out of the course even then! The PB shortened the hole to fix the problem. At some point it went back to the current config and 100's of stray balls leaving the course.

Another day, another MPD squad blocking a traffic lane on 26th at 2nd Ave outside the Fallout Coop. Lights on, engine on, no one inside.
There are frequently many squads at the Fallout. Anyone know why???

The Hiawatha Golf Course has been a contentious issue over the past few years. We love our neighborhood but the golf course and MPRB have been a terrible neighbor. Here is a letter we sent the MPRB Board of Commissioners earlier this month regarding the 100's of errant balls from the 4th hole.

Learning 2 differentiate bw mental + physical tiredness is a key life lesson, esp for ADHDers. You might feel like u need to just veg out on the couch at the end of a draining day but what you might really need is physical activity. "Give it a mile" and see how you feel. You might be surprised! 1/2
