The playoff committee's fringe decisions are proving to be pathetic. I hope they get raked over the coals for this and the folks boosting IU and SMU (who beat no one of consequence) get a little less pull.

Controversial opinion: Dune Prophecy is orders of magnitude better than House of the Dragon. Character actions make sense and the uncles are less pervy.

I wonder where Alabama would be this year if Caleb Downs had stuck around. I get it from his perspective and still love him, but I think with Downs Bama would be a CFB playoff favorite.

I think this will be helpful in creating a thing horror has alot of: denial. Instituting that allows people to know things on the metagame level but their character can't get around it. This will meld with an idea from AM, the spread of knowledge of the horrific caused harm to those around you.

When something is in your Periphery and you act in relation to it you'll get to use your Edges but when you act in relation to something you were Oblivious to, the GM can use your Blindspots against you. The sticking point is you can only have two things in your Periphery before suffering Strain.

I may still call this American Mythos, but the core mechanic is called "Periphery". When a GM introduces something into the world, they flag it as weird or eerie and the players choose privately if they want their character to accept it into their Periphery or just remain Oblivious.

I've been working on a concept for a horror rpg that feels more cosmic/psychological and less eldritch/pulp fiction, kinda in line with what I started with American Mythos probably to the chagrin of my Goblin Mode!!! co-designer @unknown25mil.bsky.social.
