I have to change to stay the same.

Winnipeg, MB.
Maybe coronal mess ejections are the answer: more northern lights tonight.

Saw the northern lights for the first time ever, from my balcony last night. Cool, Winnipeg.

I was not expecting hammock season in Winnipeg in October, but I'll take it. #dlws

Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium, 1967, Ward MacDonald architects. Brandon, Manitoba.

I am disappointed they did not name this the Fortress of Sound. Canada having its Centennial at the peak of brutalism keeps bringing the hits in each and every city.

I kind of wonder if the architect was inspired by the arched top of the elf door in the tree?

In Regina, Saskatchewan and the public spaces at Wascana Lake are excellent.

Winnipeg's Esplanade Riel Footbridge, Gaboury Préfontaine Perry Architects Inc, 2004.

Feels of its time and also out of time.

Only North American bridge with a restaurant on it I believe.

How many cities have a giant Ai Weiwei art piece? Love this one. 🚲🚲🚲🚲

It was a perfect spring evening.

Valour FC played out of their minds tonight against excellent MLS squad Vancouver. Ended up in a tie, but hope the momentum continues.

Still thinking about this very cool and unusual boat parking pier at a grocery store in Kenora, Ontario on Lake of the Woods that I saw today.

Went to the ballet last night, got to see this Winnipeg concrete beauty too.

Centennial Concert Hall, 1968. A whole whack of architecture firms joined forces. Love that the entry doors are called portals.

I visit the UWinnipeg campus for my son's soccer practices each week and I discover a bonanza of fun and serious architectural details each time.

And the worst lighting.

Underground pedestrian walkway, UManitoba campus.

Absolute unit.

Centennial Hall of the University of Winnipeg campus is an absolute banger of brutalism and Pompidou Centre esque show.

Lewis Morse and James Christie, architects, 1972.

Norwood bridge, 1999, Scatliff+Miller+Murray architect s. River Arch art by Catherine Widgery.

Finally got on the skating trail to the Red River tonight. Lovely views, like this one along the way.

Go see live music and art, you will feel better. Owen Pallett sounded amazing tonight.

All the time.

(Good to be creative though, gotta try to play/write every day to flex that muscle)

RIP, incredible artist.

(Also best window sticker/art ever, probably)

Still thinking about skating on the Assiniboine River last night. Just a magical, fun thing. Peak winter urbanity, probably.
