I heard from a few folks that "maintenance" is related to one of the new executive orders, that mandate websites must be taken offline until all mention of DEI are removed. I briefly searched through some of the executive orders, but found no mention of websites, so it is probably broader in scope.

I worked as a hydrologist at an environmental consulting firm specializing in mining waste protection/remediation, and got to be friends with the folks who had access to the big plotters.
