I think it would be cool to try and research this from the perspective of pioneer vs climax species. I’ve found in freshwater aquaculture pioneer r strategist fish and early successional herbs and some grasses have a bit lower nutrient requirements or are better at growing slowly with few nutrients.

Heck yeah I’m here for the same reason trying to learn about aquaponics!
