It is discouraging to devote so much time to reviewing others’ papers, grant applications, and animal experiment protocols, particularly when my own manuscript shows little progress.

My previous observations and others confirm that the CaMKII promoter is not specific to glutamatergic neurons. It seems this still isn't common knowledge, as I keep seeing papers claim its specificity without presenting supporting data.

Gave a talk at Hamamatsu in the morning and heading back to the lab on a local train. Peaceful time imagining my family’s reactions to the souvenir I picked up.

I’ve wondered why I find an indentation on the lateral side of the cortex in fixed mouse brain slices, and I’ve learned it’s because the rhinal fissure runs through there.
