"Sonny" Ates was a race car driver from the 60s and 70s. He ran in the 1969(nice) Indianapolis 500, and held a world record for speed in a sprint car like the one in the picture below. Sonny lived in Seymour, Indiana, in the late 50s and early 60s. Seymour was both mine and my dad's hometown.

Because I keep forgetting it isn't mentioned in the video (because the police hadn't permitted anything to be reported until the owner was found), it was mundane. Clothing, toiletries, and medication. Article from the Kokomo Tribune a few weeks later.

I forgot it's never mentioned in the video. It was a garment and toiletries bag for an auto parts company exec.

37 years ago, my dad & his dad were harvesting a cornfield when my dad heard a loud "thud" while in the truck & saw a piece of luggage just laying in the field. Last Monday I sent an email to an Indianapolis TV station looking for an archive of their interview from October 26, 1988. They delivered.

37 years ago, my dad & his dad were harvesting a cornfield when my dad heard a loud "thud" while in the truck & saw a piece of luggage just laying in the field. Last Monday I sent an email to an Indianapolis TV station looking for an archive of their interview from October 26, 1988. They delivered.
The whole series is super neat. The baseball cards are great, but I love the pop culture cards in it as well. Also got a mini black border Katie Ledecky. Looks like this. Not worth much as unsigned versions, but really neat.
