Brought my game Unseer to a playtesting meeting last night and got a TON of feedback. There are too many things I want to add to my trailer later releasing tonight, but that'll have to wait for the final release trailer next week. Anyways, here's some more progress pics. #SmallGameStudio

Made some models to spice up my game before I go into the level design. I am very proud of how quickly I was able to conjure up a toilet. It felt too cruel to have prison cells with no toilets in them. #SmallGameStudio

A very basic demo for my game Unseer is out on itch, but you'll need the password "hacker" to access it at tyger8540.itch.io/unseer. Below are some screenshots from the game. I am very satisfied with how the mechanics are working so far, now I need to think about level design. #SmallGameStudio

Wow it's been a week since I last posted about Unseer 😅. I am planning on moving towards a more puzzle-oriented game rather than a platformer. I think it makes more sense for the hacker protagonist to be sleuthing around hacking cameras rather than jumping around like he's Mario. #SmallGameStudio

After gaining a vote of confidence from my peers, I have moved into the planning and prototyping phase for Unseer. I laid it all out in a slide deck including this very rough drawing of what I plan for the game. I'm excited to explore what I can do with the camera swapping mechanic! #SmallGameStudio

Here are some pitches for game ideas I have for an upcoming larger-scale project. I like one of these a little more than the others, but let's see what my peers think in class tomorrow. #SmallGameStudio

I have only used 4 scripts so far for my Frogger-inspired game, of which the player movement is the longest. I have had fun calling functions in other scripts and using public variables in ways I never have before. #SmallGameStudio

There's a lot going on behind the scenes of my new game. I have a trigger on either side to respawn objects and it's all made in 3d. This has been very interesting to think about as I've only made 2d games in the 2d Unity environment in the past, but always fun to try new things. #SmallGameStudio

Here's a sneak peak at what I've got going on for my next project. So far I have implemented most of the features from Frogger, but I have plans to expand it further to make it my own, unique game (with Frogger mechanics). #SmallGameStudio

The third game I found very interesting today was Become A Great Artist In Just 10 Seconds. It is very easy to create wild art in the game, and I also liked all of the little sound effects, they add a lot of character to the game. #SmallGameStudio

I thoroughly enjoyed trying out all the different modes in Pippin Barr's PONGS. I will have to try them out against a friend sometime as there is only so much fun you can have playing Pong against yourself. My personal favorite modes are Breakout Pong and Shit Pong. #SmallGameStudio

Diving Bell provides a very interesting experience. It is an unnerving, yet peaceful game at the same time. The deep poetic words surrounded by the dark atmosphere just brings the whole scene together. #SmallGameStudio

Just had a friend play West Village and found a very annoying oversight in my code... Only the first option in this major dialogue was functioning. All I had to do was change two values in my code, it should be fixed now if you want to play at: tyger8540.itch.io/west-village

My new text-based, choose your own adventure game West Village is available on itch! You can find it at tyger8540.itch.io/west-village. I hope that you check it out and enjoy it! #SmallGameStudio

795 lines of if and else if statements... Not my proudest program but definitely the most story-rich. My game West Village contains 57 unique prompts that the player can reach, but some might require multiple playthroughs to get to. #SmallGameStudio

I'm very excited to work on my game West Village during class tomorrow as I have not had much time to work on it. I'm also excited to see what everyone else is working on! Here is the first prompt I made for my game, which is probably the first thing I will implement tomorrow! #SmallGameStudio

I've been pretty busy the past week, but I thought I would share some ideas I have for my new text-based game. The main idea I have is that my game will mainly take place in West Village (title of the game), which is a part of Davis. However, the player has nefarious choices. #SmallGameStudio

I played You Are Jeff Bezos, a fun simulation in which I became Jeff Bezos. This game has countless choices in its choose your own adventure style, which makes it feel personalized. I was able to choose from many options, like ending homelessness in the US, which was pretty cool. #SmallGameStudio

Queers in love at the end of the world explores the text-based game genre in a fun and unique way. You have only 10 seconds to play a full scenario of the game, so you have to remember your choices to continue your story. I like how the developer gamified this genre even more. #SmallGameStudio

Taroko Gorge. A text-based “game?” where you click through links and read poems. Some of the poems have backgrounds to them, maybe to create more of a vibe for certain poems. I found it interesting that when you click on the author’s link you’re forced to go to their website. #SmallGameStudio

Got a refresher on basic scripting for Unity earlier today, which was helpful as it's been a little while since I last programmed in C# (recently been using C++ and Python for my classes). Excited to get started on my first text-based game! { I lost in coin flipper :( } #SmallGameStudio

It was especially cool that a small streamer found my game and played it on his livestream this week! I was able to get some tips messaging in his Twitch chat about my game, and it was overall very cool to watch Unrendered being presented in that way! #SmallGameStudio

It's been a week since I released Unrendered on itch, and I was surprised by the results. More people saw and played the game than any of my past games, which was a nice surprise. Below are my analytics from the past week, which includes over 100 browser plays! On to Project 2 next! #SmallGameStudio

I enjoyed watching @bpsmith.bsky.social give a PechaKucha about Eric Barone earlier today. I've watched documentary style videos on Barone in the past because Stardew Valley is a big inspiration for me, so I was surprised that I had never heard of his earlier game, Air Pear. #SmallGameStudio
