Fan-art of Lady Izanami from the book Endsinger, by Jay Kristoff. Endsinger is the last book in the Lotus War trilogy. An image of a pale skinned female-presenting person on a black background. The person's hair is also black and is implied to be extremely long. Strands of the black hair are covering their body almost like clothing. Their hands are dripping with what is presumed to be blood. In their right hand, they seem to be holding a circular paper lantern with what looks to be a swirl of pale grey energy inside, representing a soul. Their expression might be one of attention, except that their eyes are more like voids of darkness. It is as though one is being welcomed by a version of Death.

My artwork, done for a game. Loads of work went into the image and it's still one of the best I've finished.
A Gladius, which is a type of Roman sword, is stuck into the ground. There is a pale grey, nearly white, carrier pigeon sitting on the pommel of the sword. The grass fields that the sword has been stuck into have red poppies growing around it, in a reference to wearing poppies on Armistice Day or Veterans Day. The hilt of the sword has a yellow ribbon tied around it, referencing the act of tying yellow ribbons to trees to visually denote a soldier who has not returned home yet. The sky is cloudy with what looks to be some sunlight coming through, as though a rainstorm has passed by and the sky is beginning to clear.

The crochet hook is visible, to show that it is still being worked on.
