England finally playing a style of rugby that would suit Slade and they've dropped him. And they're missing him.... Freeman has not passed on several occasions already. I reckon Manny has made more tackles than carries....

Just the book I've been waiting for, finally time to get my head around #dax properly

The 'new' (in preview for over 18 months) button slicer in #PowerBI has loads of wasted space that I don't think can be removed...

I don't want to think about how long it has taken me to work out that to insert dynamic values in a #PowerBI textbox using a DirectLake semantic model you have to manually go and turn on the Q&A functionality in the Semantic Model....
It just works in import semantic models!

Loving the #bbq again this year

Another defeat but quite proud of Exeter Chiefs today, Paul Brown-Bampoe is a phenomenon, gave us a real spark. In contrast the Bath bomb somewhat fizzled #exevbath #rugbyunion #premrugby

You'd think someone who uses #PowerBI as much as I do would have a better handle on #DAX, I find it so awkward though. Time to change that, and I think I'm fully on board the Greg Deckler appoach of avoiding CALCULATE...

Well, if you'd told me at the start of the #6nations that England would beat France and finish 2nd, ahead of Ireland, I'd have bitten your hand off! Really pleased with Finn Smith, the team seems to work better with him at 10. On the up!

Watching the #crufts gundog group. It's the GSP for me I think!

Chiefs trying to use the prem cup as a way to rekindle the spark in the team has completely back fired. A terrible performance against gloucs and don't know where we go from here...

Curious what schools think would be a good way to monitor and report their performance given the reaction to Ofsteds proposals. I get the impression they would like lengthy narratives that say very little and are useless to parents and authorities.

Was looking forward to seeing Murley play for England but he's made a few costly mistakes #6nations #ireveng
February 1, 2025 at 6:28 PM
That's not good. In the first half England got warned for repeat infringements and then Smith went to the bin. Ref warned both teams about pushing and shoving after the whistle, then doesn't card Lowe who immediately bursts through a gap to create a try.... #6nations #ireveng
February 1, 2025 at 6:22 PM
If ref followed through with what he said, Lowe should have a yellow card there #6nations #ireveng

Am inch higher on that tackle on Curry and it's probably a red card #6nations #ireveng
February 1, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Ireland's 2 tries came from Mitchell and then Smith being caught in wide channels and unable to tackle stronger ball carriers. England mistakes or something Ireland have looked at? #6nations #ireveng
February 1, 2025 at 6:07 PM
Interesting first 40. England with some good pressure at both ends and Ireland hammering away with little success in the middle. England attack looking better than it has and I imagine possession/territory stats will be in Ireland's favour so happy with that score #6nations #ireveng
February 1, 2025 at 5:36 PM
Lots questions about England's midfield, but Lawrence and Slade made that try with classy play using their strengths #6nations #ireveng

Ireland trying to resurrect #bloodgate? Hansen off for a blood sub when there was no blood.... #6nations #ireveng
February 1, 2025 at 4:54 PM
Mark Pougatch and Eddie Jones covering the England game with terrible Dallagio ads again. There are some positives to #6nations going behind a pay wall....

Adding more words to the mute list to try and reduce how much I hear about US politics on here....

It's been good finding a dataviz community on bluesky, I've missed it since I left twitter. How does bluesky like #food and #cooking? got some dried ancho chilli off Amazon recently so had a 1st go with them today. Used a Dan Toombs recipe as a starting point greatcurryrecipes.net/2022/11/30/c...

I'd quite like it if Microsoft put even 5% of the time they spent talking about AI and Copilot into the visualisation side of #PowerBI.

Spent more time than I care to admit making this visual in #powerbi. Wasn't happy with the built-in options so used @dm-p.nz html visual (big fan of Deneb too) to display different SVGs based on a data value. Been a long time since coding HTML/CSS but got something clean working #dataviz
