I've gotten to the point of taking NJT or PATH to Newark Penn and just taking the bus or Uber from there. EWR Airtrain is so unreliable.

They don’t necessarily have to fly to/from Germany. They can serve anywhere in the EU transatlantically. That would be a major change for them though.

I'm curious if additional legroom in coach (compared to other airlines) has actually been a differentiator that drove customer choice/revenue. In theory it would be, but MRTC failed miserably for AA in the '00s even with a huge marketing campaign. I expect most travelers are still booking on price.
