What about Micheal Gough? Appeared across 4 films in the property with 2 different directors, voiced the character on radio dramas for the BBC, and did multiple tv ads (he did Diet Coke ads and I vividly and fondly recall the OnStar ads) as Alfred.

It’s a pretty well known—but definitely cheap—brand. At least it’s well known in action sports… they sponsor a number of surfers.

I listen to a podcast where they had multiple people from SVU on (that’s messed up podcast) and almost every actor on SVU that they interview who talks about doing takes talks about doing multiple takes so it’s certainly the opposite of what you heard.
