Valentines 2025 Would you taste so good if you weren't here? I start to think, usually three days after you leave me, heading towards your promised sanctuaries, where I cannot be present, that I must transfigure myself like the night and cascade into shadows of syrup and anxiety, emerging always from the other side as the same but undeniably overthrown in spirit, which tells me all I need to know about your unshakeable phenomena and drifting mind.

I Am Nothing Without (Nietzsche Sits By The Fire) The seventeen gods in my head, radiant; dead and white; viciously queer; no understood in the slightest; not slightly divine sit around the low living-room table, and talk of anything but scripture. We like the warmth of the fireplace. They come and go, some more absent than not, some worn into their usual places. Some trickle out as night flows in. But two are just pouring their first drink. Where am I? Where do I sit? Certainly not in the seat by the fire. Where am I?

"lesson in my mental negativity" Exercise One: (Follow along) Observe the inner eyelid–describe–by hearing only, the form and motion of the smoke–carried on breeze by man's warm marlboro. "the point" it is that i am free it doesn't bother me like it bothers your eyes you get it, after all you sit on it, the rock precipice. you feel its gravitational tug. i betrayed you in not asking of it i felt no need for your permit i stare at you, so hurt by it we; you, i, it we pity you as pities i we both submit, you and i they slit young, weak, wrists, i watch they bleed a bayou of blood, weeds emit, i watch they went to you, i left you, it watches

Charles Bukowski looms over me in his influence like the specter of death by glorious alcoholism
“were my poems great before last night?” was my dress ugly before the driver shouted out the passenger window “you look like trash, faggot” nobody else said a thing, but when I slipped into the club like water everyone laughed. was the comic’s joke funny before everyone laughed? he seemed like he knew, but was he right before he told the joke? I flowed to the bar, and the boy serving drinks smiled, was he happy before I caught his eye? is the dress still ugly? and did his favorite drink taste this perfect before I took a sip? did the joke stop being funny? when he said “I can’t stand this guy” what made the drink suddenly taste different? why did I still want him to take off my dress? were my poems great before he told me, lying in his bed the next morning?

This #poem is called "my vintage" I wrote it some time ago, but I get to dig out some of the old gems on a new platform
A poem reading: “My Vintage” Lately, I’m on automatic. A weapon, transmission, one vision, a shooter, active, efficient, and firing. On all cylinders. On target. On you, my muse, my ride. Or die. My mind. It’s on an idea: Be more like a classic ride, fine wine, stick shift, swirl, sniff, one sip. Generous tip. What do I mean? Grow up, settle in, act an age. Slow down, climb over, quell rage. Look above, accept below, be beige. Turn off, sit out, turn a page. You know it hurts to turn it on, dive in, pull the trigger, spend the night, feel the high, take a life, put her in drive. But I’m speeding on worn out brakes. And I’d rather break a bottle than be… My vintage.
