Climate change and nature loss. Localism. Making the whole greater than the sum of the parts. Exploring ways of working through grief of the loss & finding courage to fight for what remains.
Global heating is now 2x as fast as it was and EEI has doubled. Weather weirding is here. Science studies often focus on 2100,remote impacts & mention temp. rises but public doesn't know relevance of 1.5 & 2degC. Yes media environment & FF disinformation make it hard but few scientists say how it is

The public didn't believe what? Most people think climate change:
a) happens in distant future
b) happens well away from prosperous North
c) is slow
d) is appropriately managed & controlled by NetZero by 2050
None of the above are true. Most people won't know...

To beat 2023 with a mild La Nina is frightening. The next significant El Nino will be wild. I don't think the general public is in anyway aware of what is coming. A catastrophic failure in (science) communication.

Before the GE I listened to an in-depth interview with Rachel Reeves.Came to the conclusion to never, ever depend on her to be imaginative, inspiring or decisive or even trustworthy. Yet to be proved wrong. Worst type of progressive:wants all the good things but not prepared to do necessary actions

WATCH: Seriously, if you’re following ANY bike-lane debate, you HAVE TO WATCH this news story. You actually can’t make this up. Ford claims without evidence that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.
Annex businesses tell Ford to back off Bloor bike lanes
Stores in the Annex say the Bloor bike lanes have been a big boost to business. As Michelle Mackey reports, the neighborhood's BIA wants the province to back off its new bill that could see the lanes ...

cults but it could be argued they're a special case. My experience of people & especially groups of people is the opposite. The harder it gets the more they dig in if the battle is worth winning. Clear leadership is often a key factor for the ship to weather the storm.

So sorry Science In Action has been axed. Accessible yet informative. Will your summary end with a statement like "At the current time what is most needed is clear science communication from trusted sources"? Many thanks for being a trusted & knowledgeable source for many years.

Episode 4 seems to have disappeared from Spotify. It was there about 4 hours ago.

The hard numbers do paint a very different picture to the optimistic & upbeat claptrap that typically masquerades as reasoned debate. I made the point about 2°C & Covid in climateuncensored.com/talk-at-the-... - though used the 7% figure there which is from the start of 2025 (rather than 2026).

People were arrested for holding blank pieces of paper. Hardly anything said about it. You have to defend the principle not pick & choose who you want to support & when.

Watch "The Line We Crossed" by Liz Smith. Liberals whined about JSO protests because they felt uncomfortable about the form of DA used & they weren't comfortable about the impact on their lifestyles of what was being asked for.So little support for Defend Our Juries. The line was crossed months ago.

Not unexpected. ENSO climbed rapidly in Feb/Mar. Expect higher temps for 5 months & then a small relenting of heat due to current weak La Nina.
