My October reads include a lot of Batman and a hearty dose of Vampire the Masquerade sourcebooks, thanks to last month’s Humble Bundle. Will I play VtM in the next 12 months? Unlikely, but I love the setting. #booksky

The Mass Effect board game is very fun but each round takes about 3 hours so there’s a reason we’ve only played it twice since Christmas

Some great books in September, as well as some distinctly average. I know everyone loved The Raven Scholar but I thought it was just…okay? But anyway Somewhere Beyond the Sea made me cry happy tears, and I couldn’t put Heir of Fire down. #booksky

I got served up this on Instagram the other day - I didn’t realise I could get a Type O Negative shirt OR an MCR hoodie from the bastion of high street fashion

The best metalcore record of all time just turned 20 and my god, do my knees know it

Books I read in August! I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on the Vorkosigan saga all this time - just phenomenal stuff. Looking forward to diving into the rest of those at some point. I also hit my reading goal of 60 books for the year already! #booksky

July’s books were (mostly) excellent! This year is the year of Le Guin for me - the big Earthsea reread and catching up on others I missed. The Annals of the Western Shore series is utterly wonderful - well worth exploring if you haven’t before. #booksky

She is sleeping so peacefully while I play Fever 333 at a volume just past acceptable

Finally getting around to last month’s roundup! A JOY to read the Murderbots I hadn’t got to yet, some incredible books that made me cry (Tehanu, A Psalm for the Wild Built) and holy shit, the second weirdest Anne Rice book I’ve read and I’ve read… a lot. Too much. #booksky

Fucking get in; only one of my top 5 bands I’ve never seen live before, can’t wait!

If you have been feeling lost, adrift, discontent at all recently, then read Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers. I finished it in a single sitting and cried, because it was so beautiful and relatable, and in Sibling Dex I truly felt seen. #booksky

I keep choosing really good books to read, and May is no exception! Loved the Morgaine Saga, Hush is firmly one of my favourite Batman arcs, and Saint Death’s Herald is an absolute triumph. It’s also been a joy going back to Murderbot in both show and book form #booksky

Almost everything I read in April was an absolute joy - only Snow Crash was a bit of a ballache.

If you like your Batman more on the Court of Owls/League of Shadows side then Gotham Nocturne is absolutely brilliant, so don’t miss that one. #booksky

As everyone with a cat who plays video games has done, I have attempted to create my cat in Oblivion. Not bad with limited options!

I wasn’t able to get out to my local bookshop this weekend but I did pick up the latest C.S.E. Cooney direct from Rebellion - honestly one of the best/easiest publisher stores to use. Also, I can’t wait to read this! Loved Saint Death’s Daughter

March was a really good month for books, I loved all of these! Of course, any new entry to the Cemeteries of Amalo series will be a 5 star, but I was really taken by Bat Eater (as is its UK title) #booksky

Last month’s reads! Run, don’t walk, to pick up The Reformatory by Tananarive Due. It is INCREDIBLE. But also a very tough read in places, so be careful. Also, the first Johannes Cabal story in years in Of Shadows, Stars and Sabers! And it was truly bloody good, too. #booksky

I’ve had a terrible cold for the last few days but I’m still committing to the (trophy) grind

I wanted to change the sheets tonight but how can I move this precious angel?

Last month’s reads! Children of Dune was such a slog, ugh. However, the rest were pure delights. I absolutely raced through Onyx Storm, I’m fully invested in the Empyrean series now #booksky

I forgot to post last month’s reads! Anyway here’s what December brought me. Some classics, some great reads, a true stinker (I thought The Crystal Star would be MUCH better, I love Vonda McIntyre normally!), and finally, The Fifth Season, which was absolutely astounding.

My anxiety is kicking up a fuss today for reasons unknown (too much work to do?? probably) but at least I have my little ball of fluff beside me
