I suppose that answers that, I had misinterpreted that exception as caring about previous to next contract, instead of the flat structure of the new contract.

Not that the difference in cap hit would matter, but this is also a 35+ contract, correct?

Multiple 80 Grade baseball names in those lineups

imo, it’s not the sports genre that is the delay. It’s the big brands that are slow to change. There’s definitely lots of people on Bluesky who care about sports, but so much of the teams or some reporters like Shams are sticking with where the numbers are (if you believe the data).

I’ll have to start using that as a metric more. I’ve been trying to approximate the bar for the middle of the standings as an adjusted .500 equivalent points percentage as a function of the total standings points league wide and it just isn’t practical.

I think it’s funny how NYR are publicly throwing in the towel on this season because they’re last in the East on the same day they’re projected to be within a single point of the playoffs cutoff for the West.

I thought the NHL had well established the precedent that the published game time would be when any ceremonies begin and then the public would just have to guess how delayed the actual puck drop is.

Gary has been on a run of finally giving players/fans what they want but doing so in such a mismanaged way that he can argue it wasn’t a good idea to begin with. See the slog of a decentralized draft for a clear example.

Last year had an MLB player (Danny Jansen) get traded mid game to the other team in the same game and he started an at bat as the hitter and finished the at bat as the catcher.

I think the simplest way to deal with relocations going forward is to simply require a dispersal/expansion draft any time a team relocates out of a state or province.

I had to think hard to picture what you mean and not the Janeway and Paris lizards

CFP first round also bemoans awful and embarrassing Urban Meyer
December 24, 2025 at 6:42 PM
Do you think the East might be so close you’ll have to include a second decimal place to show who makes the playoffs?
December 21, 2025 at 5:48 PM
That would explain why you and Max say it two different ways
December 19, 2025 at 6:03 PM
I doubt it. I think Leonard is getting a shot bc Kane is going miss a few games. Berggren wasn’t really cracking the rotation so there’s not much need for a specific replacement.
December 16, 2025 at 8:39 PM
I continue to believe WAR should be redone as total wins contribution not above a replacement player. Like Kelvin instead of Celsius, the bottom would be 0, not a negative. Would also help reward players who keep playing past their prime and not get careers totals dinged.

Hard no. Stop this nonsense now before Ottawa gets any ideas.
December 10, 2025 at 6:54 PM
Next up is teams that won every neutral site game, right? Like Iowa State.
December 5, 2025 at 3:08 PM
Might be slightly tinfoil hat thinking here, but I’m confident the chairs/ committee have for a long time had their own opaque reasoning to make matchups and then come up with the publicly stated reasoning after the fact

Brian Kelly come on down

If that was a summary of a draft prospect in any sport, it sure wouldn’t be an early round pick.

How many days until pitchers and catchers report?
November 27, 2025 at 5:41 PM
I do not know how to reconcile the difference in their league ranking for xG% and PDO. I guess it means they’re better at creating/preventing chances than they are at finishing/ saving ?

He’d go ballistic if he saw the footage of the skaters practicing on the empty net before the game
November 17, 2025 at 2:42 AM
Do the projections usually have 0 awful teams this early on? Currently none are under a 76 pt projection while there’s been teams finishing in the 50s at least the past handful of years. Nobody has really fallen out of competitiveness yet.
