The SNAP freeze could kick in as an increasing number of Americans are going hungry and relying on food banks as the economy cools. Senate Democrats essentially shut down the government by demanding that the Republicans who control Congress extend Affordable Care Act subsidies. Without the subsidies, health care costs could soar for 22 million Americans on ACA plans. Now the shutdown could pit the needs of those 22 million ACA enrollees against those of the 42 million who could go without food assistance starting Nov. 1.

Estimating the size of a gathering is an inexact science. There are techniques and best attempts that may approach accuracy, but determining how many people are attending an open event is difficult. And, typically that is not the focus of our reporting. We cover the action, the people, the mood and, yes, the scope. But rather than counting heads, we encourage reporters to describe what they see: “Marchers filled 15 blocks,” “jammed the streets” and “packed so tightly at times that they could barely move.” Our photo and video teams add a visual layer that lets readers see for themselves.

Last night, the president posted a fictional Fox News report in which an AI version of himself announced a new (nonexistent) policy of giving every American “a free medbed card” to give them “guaranteed access” to (imaginary) hospitals in which they can be returned “to full health” by (imaginary) magical “medbeds,” a conspiracy theory that circulates in an an obscure fraction of the online far right.

It's a very complicated question and it's a good question. I'm not even sure that Chauvin wants a pardon at this point because that would actually put him, that would actually throw him in a worse prison on the state level. He deserves a federal, pardon? Of course he does. George Floyd died of a drug overdose. That's something we've known for quite some time. You're not allowed to say that out loud, but George Floyd obviously died of a drug overdose. Just look at the original unedited non-politically pressured, non-politically motivated Hennepin County Medical Examiner report. George Floyd was saying quote, I can't breathe when he was in the back of the police car before anybody laid hands on him.

He's a full professor. Here are the academic freedom guidelines which would seem to support his position if he wants to sue, especially since he accurately quoted Kirk.
