So many people have asked if I am going to send my harvested angora fluff off to someone to spin it. Then look shocked when I say I don’t have to send it anywhere and I will happily be spinning it myself.

Do I not give appropriate spinster vibes?
In my yarn store?
Next to the spinning supplies?

Anyone know what’s going on to close I25 in weld county?

Every time I sell yarn in public it feels like an art exhibit.

Let’s face it. Getting rid of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is to make way for less qualified white men to take positions they don’t deserve.

Caking yarn is mesmerizing.

I know things are crazy, but if you have any extra good vibes or energy to spare today, my business partner and I are meeting with our potential landlord about our proposed craft cafe and sober bar this afternoon.
We appreciate any positivity you send.

This morning I decided my coping mechanism of the day would be finding out my “color palette” and donating any clothes that aren’t complementary.
Jokes on me, I have been naturally gravitating towards the Cool Summer palette since the 1900s so that’s useless for culling anything from my closet.

Shame and social decorum has long been weaponized by fascism and patriarchy. It’s a great weapon because narcissists are not fazed by either.
We can choose to stop playing by rules that they don’t adhere to.

Janelle Monáe should get to remaster that entire album.

Is there any chance that flying will feel safer by April?

We are also not going to encourage anyone to think that they are going to make enough money to support a family off of their brand new crochet or knit business.
Successful pattern designers have worked hard at their craft. I wish I knew people who make a living off of handmade items but I don’t.

Chickens need at least 8 months to start laying eggs.
Look how much chaos the broligarchs have created in 8 days.
A lot of you would have failed the marshmallow test and we wouldn’t even know what that is without federal funding.

While I’m up on my soapbox, SHAME on the knitters in that discord.
If you knit you know how much effort it takes to get the math to math.
There is no excuse for stealing patterns. None.
Try reverse engineering that $12 pattern and then tell me how it’s overpriced.
I’ll wait.

You know what we are not going to start doing here? We are not going to start shaming newbie fiber artists for the ways they engage with the craft. We are not going to throw shade at amigurumi or granny squares.
We are not going to question why someone chose to learn lace on day 1. Let them be!

I didn’t intentionally dye this fiber to match my shoes but I’m not mad about it. Not mad about this fractal either. I’m hoping the final yarn is soft enough to knit a cowl.

This dog has had me giggling for the last 5 minutes and it’s not right to keep that to myself.

I already donate to Wikipedia annually but I am giving extra today.

Browsing the Hot Right Now section of Ravelry is not giving the normal pattern browsing experience but it’s exactly what I needed today.

I too am in great shape for being from the 1930s.
I found a site selling a "1930s" handknit sweater made in yarns that absolutely did not exist in the 30s and a pattern that also did not exist in the 30s. They're saying it's in great shape for a nearly antique piece, and yeah, I bet it is.

Yarny people. How are we surviving tomorrow? What are you knitting? Who else is going to spend hours browsing patterns instead of doomscrolling socials?

Am I the only one who feels really conflicted about how ready everyone is to jump back on TikTok and give 🍊💩 credit for solving a problem he helped create?
January 19, 2025 at 7:21 PM
Creating a problem just so you can swoop in to fix it is not a new tactic.
