Zaahen reminisces about his time in Shurima. It seems that he was somekind of Sun Priest or at least had a role in the Ascension Rituals, and that this role led to his own Ascension as well!

I dont mind the idea of variants exploring new themes, but it's clear that Riot is just looking for ways to cut corners and sell more gacha
