The Class A Wisconsin Rapids Twins one-hit the Appleton Foxes in both games of a doubleheader on this date in 1982, but still managed to lose both games, 2-1 and 1-0. That Wisconsin Rapids team included future Twins Mark Davidson, Alvaro Espinoza, and Frank Eufemia.

He went on to a LONG townball career and is a member of the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame.

The 20-year-old kid became the youngest Twin to appear in an All-Star Game in 1976.

Longtime Kansas City Monarchs pitcher Hilton Smith was elected to the Hall of Fame on this date in 2001.

He was inducted in the same class as Kirby Puckett, Dave Winfield, and Bill Mazeroski.
