Yes Vaseline or Aquaphor or Lanolin will keep it wet and reduce scaring. How close to your eye is this?
I have super sensitive skin and lanolin fixes all issues very quickly. But I’m not sure I would use it where it could migrate into my eye.

Lanolin aka A&D ointment will really help. This shit cures everything.

It’s like an archeological expedition into every paint fad from the last century. The inevitable salmon color is so truly hideous it’s hard to comprehend why that was ever a thing.

Great idea. And much better than using chemicals.
When we redid the bathroom we had them strip the door frame down to the bare metal. It took forever and the smell was horrible. 70 years of paint. Every color known to man. But it looks fantastic now. And the new door actually works properly.
