My most recent fiction read took me back about a hundred years and travelled me across the continent on a train from Montreal to Vancouver. Interesting characters accompanied me (and one took good care of me). This novel, a Canadian Prize winner, is worth the read.

This is our little Lady. 120 pounds of Great Pyrenees. We’d just gone for a walk with windchills of -30c (-22F) and she doesn’t want to come back in the house. She’d rather stay outside and play in the backyard. A little cold for me to try to get a picture.

How ironic! A snow removal sign covered with snow. When I walked my dog this morning the windchill was -34c.
